Finchingfield C of E Primary School was founded in 1856 to provide education for the children of Finchingfield. We now have children attending the school from Braintree and the local villages including the Air Base at Wethersfield. Developing a love and enthusiasm for learning is the top priority for our entire school and the extended local community, giving children the opportunity to thrive and grow in a safe and caring environment. Making a BIG DIFFERENCE to the lives of the young people who come here through our shared values of RESPECT, HONESTY, KINDNESS, EQUALITY and ENTHUSIASM is our proud achievement.
We are fortunate to have a small but dedicated team of staff and volunteers who work hard to enrich the lives of our children and ensure that they achieve their full potential in all areas. We have a very well resourced school with a large hall for sporting activities, assemblies and theatre events along with an excellent range of ICT and multi-media equipment to enhance the children’s learning. Our children also benefit from some fantastic links with our neighbouring schools as part of our Four Schools Partnership. This partnership allows us to offer all of the benefits of a bigger school such as access to sporting fixtures, residential visits, school council partnerships and special themed events along with all of the existing benefits of a small school. Our strong links also allow us to foster excellent continuing professional development opportunities for our staff through shared good practice along with the monitoring and moderation of our assessments to ensure high standards are maintained. Please take the opportunity to browse our website and learn more about the work we do here.
